Our Story
The Michael Holt Foundation was established in 2024 to honor the life and legacy of Michael Holt, a compassionate and skilled professional who dedicated his life to serving others and making an impact. Michael was the CEO and owner of CML Electrical for over 30 years, a Dallas-Fort Worth-based electrical contracting company that handled major projects in the region and beyond. His company managed significant infrastructure, including schools, airports, hospitals, commercial complexes, railways, and amusement parks like Six Flags, employing over 70 people.

Michael was a Licensed Master Electrician, a Licensed Master Sign Electrician, and a Certified Electrical Project Manager and Senior Electrical Estimator. His expertise extended to powerline projects, energy management, and both high and low voltage systems. His leadership saw CML Electrical work on notable projects such as the DFW Airport Central Utility Plant Expansion and the Texas Rangers Ballpark.just to mention but a few.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Michael was deeply committed to community service. He was honored as the Weatherford Little League Volunteer of the Year for his dedicated work with youth in the league. Michael also shared his passion for music by playing the chole instrument. Recognizing his talent, his music teacher gifted him a new instrument, which inspired him to continue his musical journey and share it with others. He also taught youth classes at church, instilling values of kindness, faith, and learning through his service.

In addition to his business and community work, Michael was committed to mentoring aspiring electricians. He frequently taught free classes to help young professionals earn their journeyman electrician certifications, fostering new generations of skilled tradespeople.

Michael’s legacy of compassion and service continues through the foundation, led by his surviving spouse, Precious Holt. Precious is a passionate advocate who believes that "service to humanity is the best work of life." She has served as a Director of Training in Junior Chambers International (JCI), where she has developed leadership skills and promoted community engagement. Additionally, Precious volunteered as a Program Coordinator for grassroots sensitization campaigns, further demonstrating her commitment to community empowerment.

Precious holds a marketing degree and has over 20 years of nonprofit experience, dedicated to continuing their shared vision of uplifting the less privileged. She is Harvard University certified in Humanitarian Response to Conflict and Disaster, gaining critical skills in managing crises and providing humanitarian aid in conflict zones and disaster-stricken areas. Precious has also actively engaged in United Nations and World Bank meetings, as well as their associated side events, where she has gained valuable insights and formed global partnerships that further the foundation’s mission. These experiences, along with her international advocacy, uniquely position her to guide the foundation’s efforts in providing sustainable solutions for communities in need.
Why We Started
The Michael Holt Foundation was created to carry forward Michael’s values of compassion, mentorship, and service to the community. With his background in major electrical projects and his role in guiding future tradespeople, Michael believed in creating opportunities for others, particularly those in underserved communities.
Together, Michael and Precious envisioned a foundation that would provide practical help and long-term solutions to global challenges, such as poverty, hunger, education, and health.
